Medical Clinic/Family Health Team

All of the community’s General Practitioners (family doctors) are located in one central medical facility.  The Family Health team houses the community’s physicians along with other related health care practitioners like nurse practitioners, dieticians and social workers, and is funded through the province’s Family Health Team initiative.  The Family Health Team concept means that other health care practitioners work hand in hand with general practitioners to see more patients overall and decrease the need for Emergency Room visits at the local hospital for routine health concerns.  

In the same facility is a medical lab and the Algoma Public Health.
